Ummm... @dave My moderator box is showing 12 new plant proposals but there are no new plant proposals. A glitch to fix, I presume?

Well, you do in fact have 12 proposals that should be in your que. I don't know why they arn't showing up for you. Try refreshing the page to see if that helps. If it doesn't work I'm sure @dave will see what the problem is in the morning.

I submitted those 12, and a couple hundred in other parts of the db the last day or so, yet only 3 have been admitted.
We used to be able to kind of track progress by going into data base and clicking misc. proposals but it seems that function no longer functions...
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

In your moderator box, there is a new section called Plant Proposals, currently there are 222. Do you see that? Maybe Dave hasn't added it yet for all the moderators. The lily ones are among them.

Yeah, there is a glitch, I just quickly scrolled that list and there is a rhododendron one, it doesn't show up in my Rhododendron moderator box.

In the moderator box on the homepage, the new plant proposals don't show up inside the different sections. It only shows up in one link near the top of the moderator box that says "221 new plant proposals". You click on that to view all the proposals that are in your areas.

There's not currently a way to limit the new proposals queue to just a specific genus. It shows them all to you when you go in.

As a plant admin, you can handle any proposal, even those with a moderator. If a moderator is absent (and Mike is probably very busy right now) then I'd say go ahead and approve/decline them as if there were no moderator.
