Thanks Margaret - I have not sent this one to Northern Arizona yet I am going to put some of my other daylilies with it first....I hope it will be northern hardy.

Betty - In the 3rd season I will know what my bud count is by the average. Like most things in daylilies there are a lot of gray areas like how many buds make a branch 3, 4, 5 so until you start growing your own daylilies you are at the mercy of the hybridizer.....unless you go to their garden and witness the daylily in bloom.

That is a single scape -This is HABOOB with a couple scapes in a 5 gallon pot.

I love the name also. Esp. now that I know what it means. Be sure to include the explanation of the name in you desc. when you offer it. I love to read things like that in the Hybridizers desc.

Thanks Betty - I will release Haboob in the spring of 2012...

Thanks Cindy - I love to watch this one bloom...it is fast becoming my favorite.

Steph - Thanks I will give the reason for the name in the description....

Massive dust cloud, also known as a "haboob," was around 5,000 feet when it arrived in Phoenix, but radar data reveals that it reached heights anywhere from 8,000 to 10,000 feet high prior. The storm appeared to be around 50 miles wide in some areas, KSAZ-TV reported.

Fantastic pictures, Lyle! I always complain mightily about our dust storms here, but I can see that they're nothing in comparison to that!!!

Great Lyle. I think a name can sell with a story. Not that any of yours need it though. BTW did I tell you those pics. of the Haboob are just awesome. You should have them enlarged and put in a triple frame of sorts.

Betty - I live outside the city and we don't get hit as hard, but still have to rinse the dust off of the daylilies after the storm....

Thanks Steph, It is getting harder to come up with a name, so many new ones each year.

A few more seedlings - maybe something you will like, maybe something you don't like or maybe nothing you like--it is alway fun to look.

Lyle, I love the eyed one with the quilled petals -- or would that be spatulate? To this day, I can never remember those form terms correctly without looking them up. I like daylilies that have this form. Also the dark purple with the white teeth. I got Possible Side Effects from John Rice a year or so ago, it only shows a white tooth here and there, but the white edge on the dark purple is beautiful in person. Cameras don't capture it!

I agree I also like #6. i like the edge, it is a bicolor and i like the way the throat feathers into the petals. Actually I'd have trouble getting rid of any of these Big Grin

Lyle, talk about a breath of spring here in the dreary weather! (We're having drippy fog this morning.) I love all of them! The one I would say I probably like the least is the double, but that's because I'm just not that fond of doubles except the hose-in-hose doubles which look less confused. But each of those seedlings is quite different and I love the colors! And that quilled or spatulate one is spectacular! Does it take certain weather conditions to get that quilled look, or do all the flowers look like that?
Betty

#1 I like it with the watermark-not many like this that have that feature.
#3 has a beautiful throat-wide ruffles petals and a glowing sunrise touch of coloring.
#4 for the same reason as mentioned above,. The dark color with white teeth and the lovely tufts of tissue in the center.
#6 is so pretty with the lavender color and white teeth against the green throat. looks like Easter.
#7-Stunning-can't say enough good things about it. Lovey dubby
#8, Love the color as almost a Coral pink. I tip my hat to you.
