Hello,
Anyone know what this is? I have a couple plants that formed leaves normally and seem to be growing fine but new leaves are forming brown spots and eventually turn black and fall off while still very small.
Is this a mold or some sort of insect issue?
Plants are alternating being inside and out until night time warms up a bit here,
Any advice is appreciated.

I'm wondering if you have it too close to the LED light and it's burning? I've had that happen.

Hi, Thanks for the response. I use both LED and T5 for indoor use but the plants have been outside more than they have been in, but when inside several plants (larger) are closer to the light, with no known issues. I will try turning off the led and see what happens.

How about fertilizer? Have you added any lately?

Yes, i use Spray-n-Grow every two weeks. Ive had very good success with this feeding method.
Ive only see this condition on a couple plants. I'm wondering if its some sort of insect or fungus.

Maybe you need to scale down or stop the fertilizer treatment for now. The plant is just waking up and not yet in its ideal growing location where it will get sustained light and warmth.

I also see that kind of leaf damage due to temperature fluctuations, like gotten too cold, so the leaves will eventually blacken and drop. If the tip stays green and healthy, then it will just try to do new leaves later when conditions are more suitable.

Tarev, Thank you for the advice. The temps have swung here quite a bit, but I have noticed even when i leave it in the house where temps are constant, a few still turn black. I'll back off on fertilizer as well. Thank you

Is it possible to put them out, in part sun/shade area and leave them there? That will be really good for them, it is already going into summer, their preferred growing time.

Yes they are out every day now. I bring them in only at night so far because night time still gets down to 55 or around there, but will leave them out if temps are not forecast to go below 60.

I leave mine outdoors now, our overnights around 55F to 58F. Next weekend we will get tough weekend highs..triple digits ugh!

I agree that the spray n grow may be causing the black leaves. Also cold temps will do that. It must be so difficult growing plumerias in the northeast. I love them so much that I to would try an grow them anywhere. I know how you feel having to bring them in at night because of the cold temps. I have 25 new cuttings that I had from late last summer and from early this February. I had to bring them in every night because the night time temps would dip below 50 degrees. I know they can stay outside and survive those temps but it's way better if they stay warm at night when they are that young. I couldn't imagine living somewhere where it snows or where the temps dip below freezing. So I give you a lot of credit enjoying your hobby while living in New York.

Well, its not the spray n grow.
I havent used it in two weeks and i still have an issue.
The mature leaves are fine, but new leaves start to grow, form Brown stems / spots and then eventually drop.
I suspect some type of mite so i'm spraying every other day now until i see improvements.
All the plants have mature leaves, but something happened where 4 of the plants keep pushing out new leaves but they drop before they can open and grow.
Any other ideas out there?
Brenorangecountyca, i am now 1 full year into trying plumeria. (All plants grown from cuttings) I think I have had very good success. I had two flower, and one flowered in OCT, went Dormant during winter and this past spring started flowering again from the same stalk. It is hard in the northeast, but the nice thing about Plumeria's is during the coldest time of the year i can just put them away and not have to worry about them. I kept a singapore white under grow lamps and it didn't lose many leaves at all, though it didnt grow much either.
