Was in a local greenhouse. They had a lily pot labeled Salmon Star. One stem had a bloom. It was not Salmon Star. But it waa a nice looking bloom. Had an apricot hue to it. I didn't get a picture though and it wasn't open fully

I don't have any lillys but I do have other noids I buy what I like. Unless you are selling plants I do not think it matters what the plants family tree is.
Plants are like that little ray of sunshine on a rainy day.

Wth back to look at it. $25 for the pot. But there are 5 stems. Are they all. NOID or just the one? I'll have to give this one some more thought.

I would and have purchased NOIDs, knowing at the time that they weren't what they were labelled as, but because I liked them or had plans to use them in hybridising. It's a little annoying not to know the correct ID, but then the alternative is not having anything like it (as I have not seen similar cultivars available elsewhere in Australia).

Dave, go back and tell them it is mislabeled and could you have it for $12.50. Tell them it is not worth so much because of the mislabeling and now they can't possibly know the correct name of it. Whistling

I doubt that would work until the flower are done or near done. Regular people don't care about names: they just want pretty. Smiling

Funny this came up, because just yesterday I identified a plant that my friend's wife had. She thought it was Virginia bluebells (and she had actually brought it back from her sister's garden in Virginia a decade ago). She showed it to the master gardeners who volunteer at our arboretum and they couldn't ID it. Rolling my eyes. It was comfrey. So when my friend broke the news to the wife, she was kinda dismayed. Then she proclaimed that she was going to call it Virginia bluebells anyway. D'Oh!
