my profile says 2 found

Does this mean specifically having added the first image/s to an already listed plant in the DataBase?

or even having nominated a brand new plant to the DataBase?

In either case, I've added more than two, so I'm unsure what viewing plants added by, really pertains to.

Thanks for helping out and clarifying.

The "Viewing plants added by [username]" should be the plants you proposed adding to the database that were accepted. If you are sure you've had more plant proposals accepted than that, then there may be a bug in the counter. @dave should be able to check the details.

Images and databox proposals are separate entries. I don't think the system currently distinguishes between adding the first image to an entry and adding any image to an entry.

thanks Joshua; maybe I'm getting confused between the data and miscellaneous proposals over 'plants added by' ... I'll get used to the system as time goes by. Thanks for your explanations.

Carole, you can also go to your profile page and click on the various numbers to view photos, comments, etc. that you have added. It looks like the '2' you are referring to is new plants to the database, and you've contributed lots more of actual photos (very lovely ones!). Keep it up.

thanks Lin too; I'm getting the guist of how it works now.

So it seems that not at all listed ever - creates the 2 new plants; whereas adding to already established database, a new species does not.

Believe this is how it works; got it Smiling

Carole, all additions to the database are welcomed and encouraged. Some additions are awarded acorns, others are not. Any time I am actively researching a plant, I will check to see if there is any missing info in this database that I find from a reliable source elsewhere and try to fill in the blanks. Photos are always good, and I especially like to read other folks' comments about a particular plant. It's a slow process, but I do think this plant database is very accurate due to the constant double-checking done by our lovely admins.

whole-heartedly agree @Bonehead, I can see the admin, Dave and team, are each doing wonderful work in holding a fabulous resource together.

I'm really enjoying working with it; it obviously just takes time to nut things out along the journey ......all good!

Thank You!
