I posted a photo of Black Cottonwood, Populus balsamifera subsp. trichocarpa and randomly found it under P. heterophylla (Downy Cottonwood). I tried to submit a move request, but the system wouldn't allow me to do so. Maybe these two species have been merged? If not, my photos are all of my native cottonwood, which is black cottonwood. There was one under P. heterophylla with a couple eagles perched on the branches, and another one that is a landscape photo.

Edited to apologize: this was likely my own error. When I search for 'black cottonwood' 3 possibilities come up. I may have just chose the wrong one when I submitted my photos. Sorry for the aggravation.

I see your photos at the listing for Black Cottonwood (Populus balsamifera subsp. trichocarpa)

and you have 1 photo at the entry for Swamp Cottonwood (Populus heterophylla)

I just checked and it can be moved to Black Cottonwood. If you enlarge the photo and scroll down to the bottom and select move this photo; type in Black Cottonwood and it should come up as the second item.

I tried moving it a couple times and even though the correct name would pop up as a choice, when I selected it, I got a message 'not found' or something. I tried a few more times, and *think* I may have successfully moved it, although I'll have to wait for the admins to approve it. Not a big deal, my guess is one cottonwood in the winter likely looks the same as another, but for accuracy it should be moved.

It looks like your last try must have worked, I see it in the queue for approval by a database administrator! Thumbs up
