If a deer eats off the top of the stem, will new buds form or will there be no blooms till next season? Thanks for your help!

If the top gets eaten/broken off - no blooms this year. If there is any good news to this it is that it helps the lily bulb build a bigger bulb by not having to produce flowers so you could expect it will come back bigger next year as long as most of the leaves are still remaining and only the very top was eaten off.

Try Plantskydd for deer problems. It's the closest thing to no deer problems I have ever had.

Thanks for answering--I was afraid you guys would say that!! I can't believe I didn't take some precautions, because this isn't the first time this has happened to me! I was pretty sure they did not bloom those years, but I was not positive. I did use Plantskydd on the daylilies, which has helped tremendously--why I didn't hit up the Oriental lilies while I was at it, I don't know!! ???
