ROFL, you are the one who bought irises from me. So you are Flowergardener on the auction. I sell irises every year to help support my daylily habit lol. I can't keep up with people, I sell seeds also and am getting old and senile. You know what is really really hard about selling? There are three things to keep up with on everyone, their username, their email address, then there is their REAL name. Then there are the sneaky ones, who have different user names everywhere. I'm soooooo confused! They used to call me the iris lady at work, when I worked, now I'm lazy and retired. I would take iris bouquets to work every year. I am now writing a book on this thread lol.

You got Beat the Heat and it is the best iris in my garden, but it was hybridized here in Texas, I hope it does well for you. I tend to grow the same ones year after year, since we have mild winters usually, they don't always bloom well for me or not at all.

I thought it was going to rain today, it did for about five minutes. Guess I get to drag the garden hose around today and water all the many pots. Grumbling

Dot

Yep! Dot that is me I go by daylilydreams on all the forums except one from from the early days when I also signed up for the lily auction and was a new to using both.

I do not have a lot of iris they do very well up here in MN but the bloom time is rather short in comparison to some other plants. However they are beautiful when they are blooming and I have alway had some here and there around the garden. They used to call me the garden lady at work and would come to me with garden questions. Seems like since retirement I am plenty busy if I want to be. Whistling

I hope your TX iris like it here, we will see that is the fun of gardening trying out plants from different areas.

This is what I planted yesterday from the Jordans. There were 15 fans of Laugh at Me. I had my 10 year old son helping me much to his chagrin. He was whining and crying at the top of his voice "Mom, this is work!" A couple of neighbors who were walking on the road by our house got a good chuckle out of that. Beautiful plants and "This is work"!!! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Way to go Leslie. I hope everyone that has children at home has introduced their childen to our "play". That's what everyone says now "Mom's been playing in the yard all day, she's not tired!" Of course mine are 31 and 29 this year so they are too big for me to drag them outside. I sure wish I could. Maybe grandchildren will like "Play with Granny".

Mona, when I asked my son what he'd like his future wife to be like he said she should "be loving... and cook and plant". Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! We have a pizza garden planted in pots on the deck he's taking care of. When the veggies in it are harvested we'll have his school friends over and they can make pizzas from the tomatoes, onions, peppers and herbs with watermelon for desert.

This picture was taken when Christian was about 7. At that time he said he was going to marry Nicole Harry. Dave Devito got her first.

Wonderful you two ladies are doing it right by introducing your boys to gardening even if one considers it work. Sounds like at least one will know the basics and and will be able to make a mean pizza. The other is learning even though he doesn't think Mom is being nice.
