Hi!

I am trying to add a new plant to the database- a new variety of calamint called Calamintha nepeta Montrose White.
THese are the fields I entered:
Primary Common Name:Montrose White dwarf calamint
Accepted Botanical name:calamintha nepeta
Trade Name: Montrose White

I received a pop-up message that the genus in not valid. Can you please advise?

Hi Susan,

That's probably because there are no more Calamintha entries in the database - they've all been moved to Clinopodium. In this case, Calamintha nepeta is now Clinopodium nepeta. So your proposal should look like:

Common Name: Dwarf Calamint (please do not put the cultivar/trade name here)
Botanical name: Clinopodium nepeta
Cultivar: Montrose White

After it's added, the Calamintha nepeta can be added as a synonym name so it shows up if anyone does a search for it in the future.

Just approved it. I did remove the trade name you added as it was not needed.That is only added if the trade name is different from the given cultivar name.
