This season has a few surprises.
I planted Zinderella Peach and am disappointed with the variety.

The rest are so wonderful I have placed orders for more tall ones and will plant many more plots in the gardens than this past season.

Hi Jo Ann,

I planted a bunch of Zinderellas, and all of them except a couple turned out like yours -- very disappointing. I have been breeding my own zinnias by crossing and re-crossing them, and these are a few of my home hybrids that I plan to save seeds from.

I have a preference for zinnias that have different flower forms.

Not many. But this photo of my South Garden was taken recently. And this is a photo of some of my Zinderellas that didn't "come true" in my North Garden.

I am also growing and selecting from some zinnias that have long, narrow tubular petals. And crossing them with other unusual zinnias.

They say not to save seeds from hybrid zinnias, but I do the opposite and also make hybrids between my hybrids. Breeding zinnias is a hobby of mine.

I tip my hat to you.

Zinnias as colorful, vibrantly gorgeous. I love growing these flowers. Fantastic! They are like a family of all kinds, they can live together and dances in the wind like no other. The smells are softly scented. Congratulations to those who enjoy growing these flowers as much as I do. The birds and the bees love them toošŸ˜

Hi Jo Ann,

I have been favoring different petal shapes in my home zinnia breeding hobby. These are a examples of some of my favorite new petal shapes in zinnias.

I also like various tubular petal shapes. Actually, those have tubular petals, but just at the base of the petals. Some of my tubular zinnias have petals that are tubes for their entire length, or nearly all of their length. And some are kind of intermediate, like these.

I just like all kinds of new variations in zinnia flower forms that are different from the usual commercial flat-petals-stacked-on-flat-petals forms. So I am having a lot of fun breeding my own zinnias.
