Well, there's good news with the bad, I was thinking it wasn't in a great location anyway. Too much sun. It hasn't yet attached to the fence, luckily
So . . I'm going to move it to the fence on the other side of the house under the biggest oak. It seems to really like being misted with the orchid fert, so it will be "in the line of fire" in the new spot - very near the big horizontal branch with my brassavola experiment, and the Laelia anceps on it.
Won't be quite so easy for me to smell the flowers, sadly. But if it grows well, that will compensate.
