It's a really huge bloom so I used it on all my eyed daylilies today

Tink, is that the right color for Xylophone Jazz? It's nothing like what the hybridizer advertizes.

Leslie, it's that color here. I noticed that my coloring is different than Dot's photo of it over in her thread.

My picture of Xylophone Jazz was taken very early morning in the shade. The sun on it makes it look different. Mine is also grown in potting soil not dirt, it may make a difference.

Great pictures everyone. It is getting light out now, I will go out and see what treasures await me this morning.

The one here is grown in pine bark/sand mixture with chicken litter, milorganite, alfalfa, and slow release fert. But yes, what they are planted in makes a big difference. If the ones that are different from last year are in bloom today I will post them to show the difference since my move.

Like 1 and 5 best.

I'm not big on full forms but L. Ginger Bred is my pick of the bunch. It's just beautiful.

Tink, if that's the color I'm going to be disappointed and making a call to Karen. I still like the pattern but not that muddy color.

Too Many Petals


and.......taadaa..........the first of Mark Carpenter's that I've named.........Kaleidoscope Puzzle.

The first image was taken very early morning and the second mid-morning. I haven't adjusted the color on either. Every morning I go out and shoot pics of what's blooming and then come inside to sit down with the PlantStep software to plan my crosses and pull frozen pollen if needed. After I'm finished crossing I take more time and shoot pics again. I've noticed that the early morning shots have a bluish cast to them and the creams seem whiter.

Ah ha! Here's where all the pictures are! So many nice ones and some very good pictures to enjoy!

I'm getting scapes up here (early for me), so one of these days I'll be able to join in...it is hard to wait, but helped by coming here to see what's blooming elsewhere! Appreciate all you guys and gals who get out there early and then bring them here...
