I am very familiar with John Pilbeam's books. I am the librarian of our local Cactus & Succulent Society and we have both the First and Second Fifty Haworthias as well as many of his other books. They are all excellent. He has been writing on Cactus & Succulents for at least 40 some years. His most recent was in 2015 titled Cacti & Succulents of Baja California.
