Pampas grass will cut you. Particularly if you run your hand toward the main clump part as opposed to going out on the leaf. If that makes sense. For Indiana Zone 6, she would need a hardier variety. The bread & butter ones typically grown way down South will die.. I have a stand that has been in the ground over 40 years and mine is not invasive. I even moved it 4 years ago. Took 7 hours. Mine is the standard color.
