Hi @robertbruce Welcome! to All Things Plants from me too!

You can sit your Giant White Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia nicolai) on a tray of moist pebbles which will help to raise the humidity levels around the plant; just be sure to replace the water in the tray as it evaporates. Another suggestion would be to use a room humidifier; some are quite inexpensive and can be found at local Home Depot's, Lowes and Walmart. I agree with Ken, of utmost importance is good air circulation and a small fan on low setting will help with that.
