Before I moved last year, I had dug up a large patch of dormant Byzantine gladiolus and put them in a large oval tub. There were lots of bulbs in there. I left them in the tub until I finally decided where to plant them late last summer. That's when I discovered that there where no bulbs there! I had noticed some scratch marks in the soil, when watering other plants, but really hadn't considered that something was eating the bulbs. I managed to find 4 bulbs (they are very small) and am happy to say that they all are about 3 inches tall right now. I hope I get to keep them!
