I find it very interesting to see how roses perform across the globe and even just within the USA.
Neal's photos intrigued me because we never ( or should I say, rarely) see what roses look like during winter where it snows.
With our mild winters here, most rose canes stay basically green, so it's amazing to me how those brown "sticks" come back to life. We do have a few trees here that go dormant, but other than roses, the only other plants I have that lose their foliage are hydrangeas and that's usually after the summer/fall heat has fried them to a crisp.
Those rose seedling photos are indeed fascinating !!! (And from Switzerland no less !)
How long did it take before you saw blooms ?
