Concerning the toad: Is the toxic secretion Bufotenin? That chemical is an hallucinogen spurring a craze known as 'toad-licking' in the 1960's.Those so ingesting would trip out. It is said to be similar in effects to DMT, a psychedelic tryptamine. It was also utilized by shamanic cultures (like some tribes in the Amazonian Basin of South America) for magic and divination.
