I had a large fish tank that I would keep goldfish in, and when they got so large, I'd transport them into a couple ponds in local parks. At one of the parks one of the workers said that within a day of me putting fish in, the herons would get them, because they were tank raised they were too friendly and would not know to dive when they see shadows or ripples from the birds!
