zuzu, yes I am aware the preferred root stock in hottest regions of USA is Rosa fortuniana but here in Islamabad surroundings, Rosa centifolia is the most common root stock, followed by Rosa damscena and Rose Edouard. Few nurseries also graft roses on Gruss an Tepltiz. Rosa damascena and centifolia are being grown here since many centuries and are like sort of native roses. centifolia and damascena root stocks are know to be excellent performers in very hot as well as very cold climates (up in the north we have climate similar to zone 5 & 4, few places falling in zone 3 also while the south is like zone 9 & 10).
A rose without scent is just half a rose
