Due to a wet and mostly mild winter followed by record high temperatures this spring, I am already shredding pastures! The grass is growing so fast I am going to have trouble keeping up with it. Also it has been too windy to spray so the weeds are out of control too. I am thinking of buying a few stocker calves to help out. I have never rebuilt my cow herd since the drought of 2011; perhaps it is time...

The pullet chicks I bought in February are about ready to start free-ranging - as soon as I clip a few wings. They fly way too well when they are small!

What is everyone else doing this month?
