I've been pulling weeds and cutting spent scapes in my daylily boxes. Often I will hear this soft chirp underground and I think I know what it is, maybe. In the fall and winter I see garden toads (probably Southern Toads) as I remove plants and add soil to the boxes. This is the first year I've heard chirping as I slightly disturb the soil.

I'm beachside in the Daytona area and it's been rather cool for the last few days, if that makes a difference.

What do you think? Is it Cuban tree frogs or garden toads????? Inquiring minds want to know.
