Are there any plans to expand the Plant Database further into applicable Recipes and Uses? Currently, we have numerous recipe threads scattered throughout the forums.. . If we had some way to store the recipes & uses, we could reduce the number of threads getting lost.

For example, let's say we have an interesting dish idea submitted...

Malabar Spinach Gumbo
    Celery
    Carrots
    White or Brown Onions
    Shellfish Stock
    Cayenne Pepper'
    Malabar Spinach
    Rice
    Garlic
    Salt & Pepper
Someone may be looking at Malabar Spinach, wondering how they might use it. Someone else may be looking at Cayenne Pepper and scratching their head for ideas on how to utilize them. If the Plant Database had connectivity to something like NGA Recipes & Applications, both of these users would see a link to Malabar Spinach Gumbo. Conversely, if someone was interested in a dish, they could see links specifically to the plants involved in that dish. We could further have user-submitted & approved usages, such as first-aid (primitive bandaging, antiseptics, tonics), or cordage, insulation, primitive thatching, etc..... some plants are absolutely life-saving, with uses yet to be discovered.

The central feature of the site seems to be its Plant Database. If it also had a Recipe database attached, it would draw more members from culinary backgrounds. If it had a database on uses of plants (first-aid, cosmetics, etc.), it would draw in more naturalists.. though I think recipes demonstrate a more immediately recognizable connection between plants and human use.

Is there a better way to handle submitted recipes and uses than random threads?
