Jade plants do really well inside close to an east or west window. Here are some pics. I water them moderately, when the soil is dry to 1/2" or so.
cactus crassula streyii have 1 year

large jade have for 3 years

jade shoe planter is 4 yrs old

I have 4 other jades that stay inside year round.
