Yes, it's a spreading one. Pray the deer don't like it.

Some mountain hydrangeas get huge. I have one and it's past 4' tall.

Check out hydrangea Tokyo Delight. In time it will grow taller but it's taken 7 years here to do so and it can be cut back. Mine has never become massive but now needs to be cut. It does get wide - very wide. Good with astilbe as a companion.
