I have occasionally noted opinions posted as facts in the database, which just feels wrong to me. We have a comment section, and that should be the place for opinions and growing experiences. An example is Acer palmatum 'Shindeshojo' which includes the following comment in the leaf description: "Shindeshojo reportedly produces the best red spring foliage color of any of the Japanese maples in cultivation. Leaves emerge in spring in a bright and showy crimson red. Foliage retains that good red color for at least one month before gradually fading." This is clearly an opinion to me, specific to wherever the poster lives. Isn't that what the comment section is for? I have this same cultivar. Mine emerges a vivid orange-yellow, stays orange through the summer, and perhaps gets a bit reddish in the fall. I would never think to call it the 'best red' of my Japanese maples.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
