You created a forum post in the Plant Photos forum because you added a comment to your photo above. Others can also add comments and start threads by enlarging any photo, scrolling down and typing in the post box provided.
Adding a comment to the entry is a different process. You can copy and paste your informative comment to the entry by using the "Adding Actions" section to the left of the entry and clicking the "Post a Comment"
If you like, you can also click on "Edit Data Details" to fill in any of the info so it will no longer be a blank entry page.
