Lots of Carolina Wrens here year round. They make several nest a year in the strangest places. My Dad has an empty wine box on his patio that they love to make a nest in. This year two families made a nest at once in it, five babies in all. He is 86 and has all the time to watch them, he said it is a community event feeding and caring for them. When the fledglings leave all the adults that had been caring for them, about four or five, gather around and cheer them on their first little flights.
I believe this is a young female Cardinal taking a bath in my birdbath the other day, she knew I was photographing her, so kept her eye on me but continued to enjoy the bath. The last photo is funny because there is a ceramic turtle on the birdbath and she was looking checking it out.
