We would love to see photos of your new semps. We love photos.
We would love to show you around the Willamette Valley, OR when you come out next year. We love meeting new semp/plant lovers. JungleShadows Kevin would be happy to give you a tour of his hybridizing projects, which includes thousands of sempervivum seedlings, and much more.
How are you growing your semps? What are your special growing challenges?
A lot of my photos right now wouldn't be too impressive as most of my Sempervivum are simply 1 small rosette in a 2 or 4 inch pot. As they get large and fill out I will definitely be taking more photos and sharing them. I have already been messaging with Kevin.
I do not know many growing challenges yet as until recently I only grew Sempervivum tectorum, which I have been growing since I was 4. For them, they grew great in our natural red clay in the ground, and did well in nearly any pot we put them in as long as it had good drainage. They handled our mild full sun, but I will probably be giving many of my new hybrids some protection until I have more to trial with.
The only challenge I have noticed is birds have found my small cold frames, so I will be covering them with white poly later today.
