I'm not sure if anyone admires the Bull Thistle as much as I but I generally refer to weeds as wild flowers. The national symbol of Scotland is the Thistle and having a Scottish heritage it makes me admire the Thistle even more. It may be myth but it seems that when , many many years ago the Vikings were on the rampage and invading Scotland in a sneaky way and climbing up the escarpment they ran head on into some Thistles which of course when encountering sharp spines on the Thistle the sounds made by the attacking forces alerted the Scots. The bloom of the Thistle is quite pretty.
