@zuzu Thank you for the info. I do prefer own root roses In my climate, I have seen many grafted ones just decay, over the years, as they age. Or, simply die. One, very old grafted rose, which I helped someone remove, had a massive swollen root & just a little miserable looking few small branches of growth.
@fisherwoman I was just reading about 'Reine Victoria' & apparently there are; Bourbon, Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Perpetual Laffay 1838 & Tea Vandall 1837. So three sorts, if I understood correctly?
Not forgetting to mention, another I had which at the time, didn't realize, the 'Mme Piere Oger', which is a sport of Reine Victoria.
@AquaEyes Yes, I finally remembered I had Reine de Violettes, from an order of four, sold by Parks about 1991(?)& that was where the above cabbage 'Reine Victoria' was purchased from. It would get 6 foot arched branches, covered in blooms. Included, were three others. 'Reine de Violettes', 'Konigin von Danmark' & a white one; 'MMe Hardy', I believe ( with lemon citrus scent.).
The one I had bought inexpensively, as 'la Reine' is one, that just may be causing the confusion!
