@Calif-Sue, this plant is old, at least 10 years. I bought it from, of all places eBay. I am really partial to the strap leaved pendant anthuria and I have had my eye on wendlingeri for literally years but it is so expensive. It is one I would definitely love to add to my collection. Maybe I will ask for it for Mother's Day or Christmas next year LOL.
I have made a few mistakes with some of my pendants in the past...I grew my Anthurium veitchii, spectabile and pseudospectabile in soil when they are really epiphytic....it didn't hurt them LOL my mama spectabile is a huge monster that lives in a 35 gallon container. But it should be hanging to get the natural effect of the leaves, which are about 4ft or a little more. There are actually 2 in the container, so when they both bloomed simultaneously in the past, the flowers had male and female characteristics going on at the same time and got cross pollinated by something (probably an ant or a tree frog) and I got seeds. They just popped out and started growing in the container. When they were big enough I put them all into little slat moss baskets. They are growing really fast now.
I was able to dig up, divide and move my Veitchii and Pseudospectabile into moss baskets as well so now they are growing like they were meant to grow in nature as much as I can let them.
I just divided this vittarifolium and have a local trader who wants to do a trade later in spring so that will be fun!
