the only reasons I don't like rooting in water .. some tend to rot.. but if lucky enough that they do not and you are growing roots .. sometimes it is hard for them to transition into soil.. they might not take .. I did find to leave the soil wetter for a few weeks to make it easier to adjust to being in soil.. but they might rot doing that as well.. it's tricky and I have had mixed results doing that

I would rather take a new cutting off the one living in water and root it in soil... I personally have better luck doing it that way..

if the cutting living in water is big enough you can do one of each.. cut it in half and see where they go.. better to have backup in my opinion
