Yeah that is also the contributor to these 'old' plants starting to be considered 'rare' and the prices getting jacked up. There was a mom and pop nursery in Ocala that had Alocasia cuprea and the Black Velvet jewel alocasia for sale last year for $12. They are of course sold out but both these plants are commanding price tags of anywhere from $35-100+ dollars at the moment. Agristarts tissue cultures both these but is not currently producing either. So a false 'market shortage' has been manufactured and people are spending way more than they should for these plants.
