it won't hurt it if you pick it up regular. Try scooping it out and putting it where you want her to go and then take her out on a leash so she can't get into the beds. Maybe taking her out more frequently will keep her from going on the carpet? We have dogs and we love them, I finally got rid of most of my carpet so we don't have to worry about it. Also we bought a really great shampooer and that helps.
