There are several bulb sizes for different bloom varieties. Interesting article explains why not all varieties are available in the largest size. It turns out that size matters according to this article.

Barbara it's never a sure shot treating any virus . I hope your bulb blooms for you. It's a shame all the anticipation of waiting for blooms and they can at times be disappointing. your treated bulb also is starting to rot. I barely planted my virus 🦠 bulb in sterile soil using only sterilized water. I also treat the virus area on the bulb every week with peroxide mixed with bleach to keep it from spreading to other bulbs. Seems to keep the virus at bay but I will probably have to toss it eventually.
