I don't know why I did not think of this before.......
I am still friends with the person who gave me this palm as a gift. I messaged him and asked. He knew immediately! In fact he said 'I can't believe you still have that palm!' (its been 10 years or more LOL)
And the ID is.....Chrysophilia stauracantha! One of the 'root spine' palms.
The 'stilt roots' are actually downward growing spines that keep animals away from the trunk. Google photos....they can look really WILD when large! Like a grass skirt!
