Your young deer may have learned from getting a mouthful of something yucky. I find the young ones try things, then don't keep it up if the taste or texture doesn't suit them. I had one bite off a scape that was sprayed with Bobbex, but it spat it out. I didn't have my scapes bothered again. Another time a young deer ate quite a bit of milkweed which is toxic. The milkweed hasn't been chewed on since.

I would keep up your spraying and hope the fawns learn. Deer are a challenge.

I will be curious to see how your Orbit Yard Enforcer works out. It sounds interesting.
