This is the second year the clematis is blooming. It has lots of buds now in March. The vines aren't long and it tends to sprawl on the ground. I've tied up a few of the vines but it doesn't seem to be growing upward much. I have a trellis and put string on the trellis to make it easier for it to attach. It has attached some. What can I do to promote more upward growth?
