I just read a post made by someone on one of the peony groups on FB asking about using alfalfa meal on peonies for fertilizer. I posted that I didn't think it'd be a good thing since it was mainly nitrogen, she posted this after:

After I saw her post I googled using alfalfa meal as a peony fertilizer and got this about roses:

It's an advertisement on a website but still, sounds interesting. Has anyone used it on blooming perennials, especially peonies or roses? How did it perform?
