Cricket Hill lists using Alfalfa meal in their peony planting site selection and preparation page.

But they also list using Bloodmeal, Which I read was high in Nitrogen.
I wondered if all listed in the guide should be used, (possibly also mycorrhizae) but not knowing enough about everyone of them, and the total cost, in the end I just used Bonemeal, Azomite, compost.
I tend to be cautious by nature.
I even only used a bare sprinkling of lime afraid to burn roots, until emailing Nate, he said it was hard to use too much lime, so now I have used quite alot, but of limestone sand, instead of powdered which should break down slower.
Interesting about Triacontanol though.
