I kinda think that you have some nice gardens set up as is. I think that you may need to add a transition between both areas like maybe some shrubs to break those areas apart. I have seen some great images on Pinterest of shrubs that transition spaces like yours. Also here is a potential for you on this site which has many choices of visual ideas.
