I suggest that soil is best, simply because the plant does not grow in water naturally and is not built for doing that long-term. I root mine in soil to begin with, and they are quite happy that way. I suppose going from water-roots to soil-roots it might appreciate not drying out in the transition, but soil is where it's going to be happy long-term. Just my 2 cents. Smiling
