Welcome to Beaumont; I'm from there too.

I would add salvia, coreopsis, cosmos, coneflower, black eye susan, tithonia, alyssum, kalanchoe,
canna, crinum, croscomia, astilbe, daylily, ginger and sweet autumn clematis which I have had many years are really tough and drought tolerant.

Give Jefferson county master gardeners a call if you need more advice.
