Hydrangeas Peonies Celebrating Gardening: 2015 Plant Identifier Garden Ideas: Master Level
Paeonia 'Red Emperor' 6/2021 Lactiflora- (Auten, 1931) (3-JAP-R) Lactiflora Cultivar Peony, Mature size: 30", red, japanese Midseason, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Month 6a, In Garden Bed N2,05 for 7.7 YEARS (Wild). Planted in 2013.

Paeonia 'Red Emperor' (Auten, 1931) is a Japanese type lactiflora cultivar: bright red, midseason bloomer, medium height, tends to fade, stiff stems, full center. This may not be one of Auten's most popular cultivars, but it is one of my favorites. He is more noted for his red peonies like 'Big Ben', 'Chocolate Solider', and 'Early Scout'.
