That is the beauty of gardening. You can do it the way YOU like it! That look isn't to my taste either, but that doesn't matter. The important thing is that you like it and that it gives you pleasure. Some people don't like the woodland side of my garden because I don't have manicured lawn going right up to the privacy fence. But I enjoy planting shade loving plants in that part of my garden because grass won't grow under the two huge oak trees that are shading it out anyway. Enjoy yourself!
