It looks like Fishbone Cactus (Selenicereus anthonyanus). I hope that is the current name as Catalog of Life seems to be having some sort of issue so I can't check. All I can tell you about care is its epiphytic (that means it doesn't live in soil) but you must be doing something right.

Based on how other plants in this genus grow, I doubt cutting it will cause branching.
