Hi all!

I've had this guy (the really tall one not the aloe) for about 2 months and boy has he sprouted! He was propagated by another plant lover and he was just above the two long root like when I got him

I'm wondering about his species and care. Should I clip where the two root like things are? Where the light green new growth begins? He's just so tall!!! And I feel like clipping him he might grow more than one stalk.

I've just been watering him whenever the soil is dry about an inch down and giving him succulent food once in a while.

Thanks guys! You rock! Hurray! Thumbs up

It looks like Fishbone Cactus (Selenicereus anthonyanus). I hope that is the current name as Catalog of Life seems to be having some sort of issue so I can't check. All I can tell you about care is its epiphytic (that means it doesn't live in soil) but you must be doing something right.

Based on how other plants in this genus grow, I doubt cutting it will cause branching.

You can just cut the one with roots and grow it , all of the cuttings that you have can be propagated and rooted as a new plant. Last time I chopped them into 10 cm each, let it callused and grow them in cactus mix, just make sure to make a mark as where is the top and bottom.
TI have one of those, the new branches will grow with or without cuttings, when its time to grow new branches then it will produce new branches, cutting will also trigger it to grow a new one.
As it can grow very tall, some people will like to grow them as a hanging plant. Can produce a beautiful flower.

Rolling on the floor laughing hahaha..
I keep my knife and scissors away from this plant, as I somehow do not treat it as a succulents. Just have it neglected outdoor and let it go haywire, and so far it can grow happily out there. Grin

You remind me of my 30+ Euphorbia Knuthii cuttings, hopefully 12 to 20 months later I can show you what I have created out of them Smiling

omg, you remind me that I still have some lactea and Caralluma umbellata that I need to maintain Crying D'Oh! Hilarious!
