Dwarf
formosanum is hardy species and I think your climate will be good for them. You just need to be sure they have excellent drainage especially in pots. How to grow them from seed?
Step 1: get seeds
Step 2: sow seeds in spring and put them in sheltered location with a lot of sunlight
Step 3: keep the soil moist (but do not overwater)
That's it.
They are really easy from seeds and you might have 1st flowers after just one year.
They usually germinate 2-3 weeks after sowing.
