Stupid plant nurseries!
I'm not sure that it's even possible to purchase a tree from a plant nursery that hasn't had it's shape ruined by this kind of 'pruning'.
If you can send them back with a complaint... I'd probably do so.
I've grown honeylocust from seed... It isn't going to take that much longer... and you get a natural shape if you do it from a seed.
While those look really bad... your trees would probably grow if you planted them.
Part of the problem is that you purchased grafted trees... Not sure that named cultivars can be grown from seed.
